Clay: (trying to catch his breath after jogging)

Melanie: (sneaking past Monty to go into the school)

Alex: (sitting by himself at the cafe)

Chloe: (sitting on the bleachers, watching football)

Jeff: (trying to find his batting glove)

Deni: (taking photographs around school)

[ SHERI | :
( jogs a little ahead of him and stops, looking at him;
giggles a little ) how you doing there, Clay?

[ JUSTIN | :
( leaving the school to walk to the football field to practice , not really
up for it anyway )

[ KAT | :
( walking in, seeing if Clay was around ; shrugs )
Not happy to be back ( talking to herself )

[ ZACH | :
( sees her from afar, watching her while tossing the football to
someone else )

[ VALENTINA | :
( looks in the mirror in her locker, applying some lipstick )

[ MONTY | :
( sitting on the school steps, smoking a cigarette )

Clay: Oh no big deal, dying but I'm sure I'll be fine eventually

Melanie: (pushes past him) Justin

Alex: (glances over seeing her and tries to remember how he knows her)

Chloe: (stands up and brushes off her legs walking down)

Jeff: damn it (mumbles and shuts his locker)

Deni: (pauses and gets a good angle before snapping a picture of him)

[ SHERI | :
( laughs ) I told you if we do this everyday, you'll be
a pro .

[ JUSTIN | :
Hey! ( grabs her arm ) what's your problem ?

[ KAT | :
( goes and grabs some food, then goes to sit at a table )
is this even edible ?

[ ZACH | :
I'll catch up with you in a bit ( tells his teammate ; walks towards her )

[ VALENTINA | :
( slightly jumps; closes hers to look at him ) are you okay ?

[ MONTY | :
( hears her camera go off and looks towards her ) hey ?

Clay: I don't think that will ever happen

Melanie: (narrows her eyes at him) do you really want the answer to that? Or should you ask yourself who my brother is and what you are into

Alex: Mostly

Chloe: (gets to the bottom) is it just me or is practice not really practice?

Jeff: I can't find my batting glove for baseball. This is probably the 10th pair I've had to buy because one is always missing

Deni: huh? (raises her brows) It was great lighting

[ SHERI | :
( laughs ) you're the one that said that you wanted
to get fit .

[ JUSTIN | :
( looks around and pulls her into an empty classroom )
I can't have you saying that out loud, Melanie .

[ KAT | :
Oh ... You heard me ( looks at him ) I was talking to myself ( chuckles )

[ ZACH | :
I thought the same thing . There's barely anyone here . I don't know
where the hell Justin is .

[ VALENTINA | :
You should leave it in a gym bag in the trunk of your car
instead of here . Someone could easily steal it.

[ MONTY | :
( looks at her, raising his brow ) so you took a pic of me ?

Clay: I may have overestimated myself

Melanie: dont manhandle me

Alex: happens to the best of us

Chloe: playing hooky probably

Jeff: most people wouldn't do that

Deni: yeah. Take it as a compliment

[ SHERI | :

[ JUSTIN | :

( shrugs and looks at him; tilts her head to the side )

[ ZACH | :
( shakes his head and puts his hands in his shorts pockets )
I don't know what's going on through his head . The whole
Hannah thing still haunts him .. And now Bryce ( turns his head
watching Bryce laughing with some kid ) I am glad you got away
from him, Chloe.

[ VALENTINA | :
What, steal ?

[ MONTY | :
( smiles and shakes his head, looking down )
I appreciate it. Although, I am nothing too special .

Clay: I'm trying so hard not to be that guy who pukes

Melanie: And you'd think you'd be less of an ass to my brother seeing as the situation don't you think? (pushes her hair behind her ears) You guys taunt him, and then run to him when you need something. I'm not going to lose my brother to you boys and your shit you have you're dealing with. I'm dealing with my own stuff, but you know what I do? Hide it and protect the only person who cares about me.

Alex: That would be me. You are so familiar to me for some reason.

Chloe: Wasn't easy (bites her lip) I had you for support

Jeff: not from me

Deni: Your bone structure is amazing.

[ SHERI | :
( laughs ) okay, we will start little . And build you up
to it . We can do a little light jogging next time .

[ JUSTIN | :
( grips his hair tightly while walking back and forth ) you don't
think I feel bad for how I treat him ? He was once my best friend, but
I fucked that up a long time ago, letting myself stoop to Bryce's level.
( pulls his hair ) I only know how to act like Bryce . I mess everything up
all the damn time ( feels himself getting angry and punches the wall )

[ KAT | :
I was Hannah Bakers best friend .

[ ZACH | :
( smiles softly ) I'd always be here for you .

[ VALENTINA | :
Would there be anyone jealous of you that would want
to steal it ?

[ MONTY | :
( chuckles and takes a drag of his cigarette, blowing the
smoke the other way ) that's a first time I hear that.

Clay: I feel like I weigh 600 pounds

Melanie: (watches him and grabs for his arm) Stop it. (looks at his hand) dumbass. You're going to break your hand. (pulls him in, just holding onto him for a second) One, calm down. Why do both of you do that? Just hit things when you're angry? But neither of you has thought to punch Bryce right in the throat. (shakes her head as her chin rests on his shoulder) You fuck up because no one stops you from doing it, they only try to stop it once you've done it. Bryce is a selfish jackass, and you guys know that. No matter what good things he has done for you, they don't outweigh the bad things he has done without caring how it hurts you. Stop letting him win.

Alex: Now I remember. Your going away party and everything

Chloe: you're a sweetheart (smiles and squeezes his arm) must save all the moody male stuff for on the field huh?

Jeff: I wouldn't know

Deni: Probably because you're usually scowling and they can't see past the fact you look angry. I catch the best photo no matter the emotion in it.

[ SHERI | :
( stares at him ) are you serious? Did you just hear
what you just said ?

[ JUSTIN | :
( clutches onto her shirt with his good hand and feels his throat
tighten up ) I can't, Mel. It's like I can't stop being this way.. What I
did to Hannah, what I've done to Jess. I am just like him. I hurt people.

[ KAT | :
( nods ) that's me . The dummy who thought she was in love
with Justin Foley ( chuckles ) Best friend of Hannah and Clay.
Although Clay has kinda' been dodging me since I have moved back.

[ ZACH | :
Gotta tackle the other guys somehow ( laughs )

[ VALENTINA | :
Only thing that I could think of.

[ MONTY | :
It is just how I am ( shrugs and finishes up his cigarette )
I have my reasons for being the way I am. But I guess thanks
for noticing ?

Clay: add my emotional weight onto my physical and I'm huge

Melanie: you're a stupid teenage boy. Even I know that. (Sighs rubbing his back) you're still a scared little boy sometimes, you just need to figure out how to grow without losing yourself. You are loyal to clay, so you can do it. I cant watch you destroy yourself, because it won't just hurt you.

Alex: probably scared of you

Chloe: dont get hurt. I cant carry you.

Jeff: it's like socks when you only find one.

Deni: no problem. I really rarely see anyone smile for pictures anymore.

Oh Clay Jensen, I don't know what I see in you ( smiles )

[ JUSTIN | :

[ ZACH | :
( laughs ) I think that I am going to just leave . Since there
isn't anyone here. Do you have any plans ?

[ VALENTINA | :
( laughs and flips her hair over her shoulder and leans against
her locker ) I don't know how many times I've lost pairs.

[ MONTY | :
That is because no one around here is happy . Everyone has
their demons .

Clay: I'm awkwardly charming

Alex: guys avoiding girls is usually fear of some sort if you havent seen them in awhile

Jeff: mine is always the left one, how does that even happen?

Deni: and no one can share their demons long enough to smile sometimes?

( smiles ) this is true .

[ JUSTIN | :
Maybe you should. I fucked up your life too, Melanie
( lightly pushes her away ) everything I touch, I ruin .
If I could take myself out of this world, everyone would
be happy without me. Everyone would be so much better
without Justin the fuck up. My mom hates me, my stepfather
beats the shit out of me. I'm useless.

[ KAT | :
I know I wasn't the best of friend when Hannah passed.
I would ignore me, too. But I moved back for Clay ( shrugs )

[ ZACH | :

[ VALENTINA | :
( laughs ) I don't even know.

[ MONTY | :

Clay: I'm not hot enough for you though, you are way out of my league

Melanie: Don't you dare! I go home to an empty house, the only person I can depend on is my dealer brother with an anger problem that is the most important thing in my life. One of these days someone is going to try to hurt him for whatever reason they decide in their head and I will be alone. Everyone hates him. They all turn against him. And they will hurry me to get back at him. And I can't talk to anyone about how I feel because they don't understand. No one understands why I'm still by his side, why if anything happens to him I won't live anymore, because without him I'm nothing. And when I try to care, and talk to someone, HE tries to tell me I'd be better off without him. (shoves him) You know nothing!

Alex: None of us were the best friends for her. I was hear and was too busy chasing Jessica

Chloe: I haven't been in the mood to hang out with the cheer girls

Jeff: So I'm always sitting there with the right side of everything

Deni: Even your sister? I've seen her smile sometimes

[ SHERI | :
That's not true . Who should I be with ? A Justin, A Bryce?

[ JUSTIN | :
( pulls her close, hugging her tight; sobs ) I am so .. fucking
sorry, Melanie . I can try to be better for you . You and Clay,
you're all I have .

[ KAT | :
Which is why she committed suicide ( sighs and leans back in her
chair ) we all messed up .

[ ZACH | :
( shakes his head ) I don't blame you. They're airheads . They only
hung around you because of Bryce anyway .

[ VALENTINA | :
( laughs ) no matter how much you try to keep
them together, they get lost.

[ MONTY | :
( looks at her ) Melly, she tries to be happy . She puts on a
front half of the time. But sometimes it is genuine . She makes
everyone around her happy .

Clay: someone with Justin's face and zach's body

Melanie: (holds onto him) I cant lose anyone. I cant.

Alex: I shot myself in the head. Fucked that up

Chloe: ironic really

Jeff: insanity. Life is weird.

Deni: we need people like that at this school. People act like if I smile I'm just showing my teeth like some sort of dog hoping for a fight

[ SHERI | :
( shakes her head ) I don't care about that .

[ JUSTIN | :
( pulls back, holding her face in his hands ) you're not
going to lose me, no matter how many times I mess up
and pull myself away from you .

[ KAT | :
Holy crap .. How are you alive ?

[ ZACH | :
I can join you, if you'd like .

[ VALENTINA | :
try coming here from New York to run away from a rapist
father and a mother who doesn't believe anyone but wants
to be by her husbands side . ( shakes her head ) right
now I have my aunt that I moved in . Weirdly, it's my
fathers sister but she hates him.

[ MONTY | :
( nods ) my sister is that person . Smiles, but will still fight .
She's tough. ( looks at her ) what's your story ? I do see you around .
But you're always to yourself .

Clay: you prefer the company of nerds

Melanie: promise me.

Alex: my aim sucks I guess. I had alot of damage

Chloe: I'd love the company

Jeff: I almost died. Really bad car accident. Was in a coma. I feel like this school houses all pain

Deni: I was adopted when I was around 5. My parents were killed in a home invasion burglary. I was at a sleepover with my grandparents who were in too bad of health to care for me permanently. The only bad thing I face is that my adoptive mom is best friends with Mrs walker.

[ SHERI | :
( shrugs ) I wouldn't say nerds . I enjoy your
company though.

[ JUSTIN | :
I promise you, that I won't leave .

[ KAT | :
Did you try to kill yourself because of Hannah ?
( sees someone turn their way ) MIND YOUR BUSINESS !

[ ZACH | :
( smiles ) did you drive here ? I have my car .

[ VALENTINA | :
Did they think that you were going to die ?

[ MONTY | :
( jaws clenched and shakes his head ) really ? Do they try
to force you to be around him ?

Clay: justin calls me moody

Melanie: (bites her lip) I'm sure there is going to be a rumor when we leave this room

Alex: I helped push her over the edge I was a horrible friend

Chloe: that would be great

Jeff: they did. Everyone was already mourning

Deni: we have dinners around each other. Luckily I'm not his type

[ SHERI | :
coming from the moody king himself.

[ JUSTIN | :
Who cares what they say?
Rumors get people hurt.

[ KAT | :
We just have to all do better and hope no one
else makes that mistake.

[ ZACH | :
Do you need to grab anything?

[ VALENTINA | :
To some of them seem fake when they saw you come back?
Because I know that people can mourn for you,
But not really give a crap.

[ MONTY | :
I don't think that guy has a type.
The guys a rapist you need to stay away from him.

Clay: Well they say it takes one to know one

Melanie: My brother cares. And rumors will get you hurt. Exactly. Who would hurt me for being with you? Jessica? I'm pretty sure I can take her.

Alex: Luckily all I have left from my ordeal is a limp.

Chloe: (pats her pockets) No. I left my purse at home today.

Jeff: Hard to say. I was popular, baseball star and all, so no one ever outwardly tried to be an ass, but there is always at least one

Deni: I've heard. His grandfather is a lovely little racist asshole as well.
